01 — THE FILM

A father’s only argument is love.

After a childhood fall from a racehorse leaves him with a lifelong brain injury, Balgaa fights to keep the boy fate has placed in his care from being sent away to an orphanage. Tsoomoo’s birth mother left him with her mother when he was two months old; Balgaa has raised him ever since with a father’s love.

03 — NAADAM, 1975

The race never stopped running through him.

On the night before Naadam, the bay racehorse Sogoo Kheer eats mineral soil — a dangerous sign in a horse at peak racing condition. To protect Tsevelmaa, the girl meant to ride him, young Balgaa pulls her from the saddle and takes her place. Far ahead of the field, within sight of the Naadam grounds, horse and boy come crashing down.
